Awards 2024 Winners Announced
The winners of the Conscious Companies Awards 2024, in partnership with Primeserv, were announced recently at a gala dinner in Johannesburg and streamed live to local and international audiences. MIP Holdings and its visionary CEO Richard Firth, took top spot in the business category, with second place going to Got Produce Global and its CEO Deborah Walliser. Martin Sweet and Nkosinathi Moshoana of the YouthStart Foundation won in the NGO/NPC category.
Two special Conscious Companies Awards were presented on the night – one to Prof. Mervyn King, Chairperson Emeritus of the King Committee on Corporate Governance. He was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award and the other to spiritual leader Dr. Mohanji for his humanitarian contribution globally. He was accompanied by a business icon from India, Krishnakumar KT and CEO of the Mohanji Foundation, Madhusudan Rajagopalan.
Since its inception in 2017, the Conscious Companies Awards has honoured responsible leaders who are committed to business as a force for good; this at a crucial time when true leadership around the globe is floundering and is in a state of flux. All nominees were selected by their peers with winners chosen by a panel of judges.
Speaking at the event was last year’s winner in the business category, CEO of Sumitomo Rubber SA, Lubin Ozoux, who said that the Awards had profoundly changed his life’s journey. The finalists were identified as the class of 2024 on how they define their companies to surrender to a new way of being and to develop a deepened understanding of conscious leadership to do things differently.
The panel of judges included: Chairman Prof. Mervyn King as well as Merrick Abel, CEO of Primeserv, Hoosain Kerjieker, Chairman of the Mail & Guardian and Vukani Magubani, director of the Conscious Leadership Academy.
